Get a Behind the Scene Look about Preacher’s Wives in Atlanta In ‘The Sisterhood’ reality show

Earlier this year reports emerged of a new Atlanta-based reality show that would focus on the lives of preacher’s wives.  Today, TLC, the network that recently brought us the hit series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, has released a trailer of The Sisterhood, which is basically The Real Housewives of Atlanta with an element of church.

According to an exclusive preview granted to People, the show will take “viewers behind the pews and into the lives of some of Atlanta’s “first ladies,” as preacher’s wives are often known in the evangelical community.” In the beginning of the trailer two of the wives set tone for the premise of the show, “A first lady has to appear perfect because she sets the standard for the congregation. But if you pull back the curtain and see us for who we truly are you’d be shocked.”

In the preview footage we see the wives working out, arguing, getting tattoos, and talking openly about sex and STD’s. At one point one of the wives even opens up about smoking crack prior to becoming a first lady. “This was the house where I smoked my first crack pipe at,” says one “sister.” Another part of The Sisterhood trailer shows a preacher giving his wife a pair of handcuffs as a gift, prompting her to say: “people don’t expect a preacher and preacher’s wife to have a good sex life.” True Entertainment, the production company that brought us the Real Housewives of Atlanta, is reportedly producing the new reality show.

“We are excited to work with TLC to profile the lives of these strong-willed women,” said Steven Weinstock, president of True Entertainment. “With most praise in religious communities directed towards male preachers, we are thrilled to give these remarkable ladies the spotlight they crave and deserve.”

The Sisterhood premieres January 1, on TLC. This show is sure to generate a lot of buzz amongst black churches.

  1. I love the show. It show’s the truth behind what is really going on when church is not in. You will alway’s find someone to disagree with the show, yet if we knew their secert’s in their lives, we would’nt want to stand next to them at a bus stop. My church family & friend’s alone with my family, *(L-O-V-E)* the show because it’s *N-O-T*….*(F-A-K-E)* like the people in most churches who pretend to be all of that & after church u can find them in a bar or with someone else husband or wife. So bring it on ladies & show just what these so call —- oh, i don’t do this & that folks what’s real. I pray that ur show become the #1 show on T.V. May God continue blessing your lives and business into wealth for the good of the deed. *AMEN*.

  2. Hello sister’s, what is going on with the show? I’m about to lose my mind because it has’nt been on here in Dayton,Ohio for 2 weeks and my friends & family are going crazy ladies? What do we have to do to get you back on here? We here in Dayton alone with the men are all talking about how good the show is and that for once the world get’s to see that you all are just like anyone else with family & friends issus who have to go throught like everyone else to solve the problem.. Ms.Domonique you keep’s it so R-E-A-L and that alone should have your church full. I love you because you are not ashame about what your life has been and how God brought you out and you are still standing T-A-L-L for the *LORD*. I don’t want someone standing up preaching to me and they’ve never done anything wrong & their life has been so good, NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO DEAR HEART. I want someone who has gone throught something and is a testimony of what GOD can and will do for you if you have faith and trust in the *LORD*. Please let me know when the show is coming back PLEASE.
