Filmstock began in 2009 to screen local short films in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area, and for the next three years continued to grow into an event that curated not only Southwestern films, but films from around the world.

In 2013, Filmstock continued its mission by connecting filmmakers with audience members from the American Southwest, and expanded to all of the Four Corners states.

In 2014, Filmstock had its biggest year yet, with more films than ever pouring in, and more eager film fans looking forward to watching them and meeting their filmmakers! This is also the year the festival relocated to the scenic Mill Avenue during the Tempe Festival of the Arts, giving its festival-goers a much richer experience.

In 2015, Filmstock returned to beautiful downtown Tempe for its sixth annual year. Actor Vic Rogers won Best Actor Award. Vic Rogers is signed to RKD Talent Management and is slated for some big projects starting in 2016.

The winners for the Actor’s Showcase are:

Best Actor: Vic Rogers
Best Actress: Jane Fendelman
Best Abstract: Timothy Valdisera
Best Comedic: Kamy Renee Johnson
Best Dramatic: J Lyle
Best Partnership: Cody Goulder & Melody Knudson
Best Redirect: Cisco Saavedra

  1. Congratulations! Didn’t know that kind of talent was coming out of Arizona. Very well done. Can’t wait to see how well he does on the big screen or television.

  2. Best actor? Of course, Best Actor! This doesn’t surprise me! I’ve seen this guy’s acting skills in front of the camera! Whether he’s playing a dramatic role or comedic role, Vic Rogers has a natural gift to successfully bring believing characters to life! Looking forward to seeing more of his work on screen. Such a talented actor! The award of Best Actor speaks for itself. Congratulations! Can’t wait to see more roles in upcoming projects!
