Synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Randy tries very hard to be a good person. 6th Annual Pan Pacific Film Festival To Showcase Family-Friendly and Faith-Based Filmmakers & Movies

FG/PR — Los Angeles, CA – The annual Pan Pacific Film Festival (PPFF) brings together a forum of movie industry professionals and cinephiles to share stories of redemption and transformation. The international event draws a unique and diverse audience of filmmakers and filmgoers who seek encouragement and support for the production of positive family and/or faith audience films.

Held annually in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, this year’s 6th annual film festival event will be held in the Aratani Community Center (JACCC) in Los Angeles, CA through July 24 – 26, 2014.

This year’s event is co-hosted by actress Jenn Gotzon & Dr. Drake Travis. Gotzon is know best for her work in Hulk and  Frost/Nixon, and has appeared in over 15 inspirational and redemptive feature films including the 2014 Oscar Nominated (rescinded) inspirational French and Indian War true-story Alone Yet Not Alone, mystery-drama Doonby, and more. Dr. Travis is currently the Director of Global Ambassadors for The Resurrection Project and is the author of two published works including Christ Our Healer Today and Healing Power: Voice Activated. He is currently working on a new talk show called “The High Road”, which is scheduled to be produced by end of this year.

PPFF activities consist of screenings of family-friendly and faith-based films, mini-concerts by artists, workshops led by top Hollywood producers, a model talent search, movie premieres and much more. Each night, PPFF will host a red carpet event featuring some of Hollywood’s most influential professionals, along with the movie premiers of Jackson’s Run and Footprints (Friday) and God’s Eye View and Apostle (Saturday).

The opening night of the festival features an awards ceremony celebrating excellence in independent filmmaking. The ceremony honors the year’s best submitted films and talent, and serves to encourage and affirm creative talents. Winners receive monetary prizes, stipends for future films, recognition by Hollywood professionals, International distribution agreements with broadcasting channels, DVD production, and more.

Award categories include: Best Short Narrative, Best Feature Narrative, Best Mission, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Soundtrack, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Under 7, Best “4 to 14,” Best “The Faithful,” Best Theatrical, Founder’s Pick, Best Director, Best Short Documentary, and Best Feature Documentary.

The festival is presented in partnership with International Media Mission (IMM), CGN TV, and The JUCE Network. Jill Scott to join Usher as a mentor on ‘The Voice’

Usher and Jill ScottNBC’s “The Voice” is taking it to the next level, by inviting some of the music industries cream of the crop to mentor alongside they’re grade A coaches Latin sensation Shakira, R&B star Usher, rock star Adam Levine and country star Blake Shelton.

Just weeks after the announcement that Usher and Shakira will be returning (replacing Cee Lo and Christina Aguilera…again) Usher announced that when he returns, he’ll be doing it with a bang! Teaming up with Usher on the upcoming season of “The Voice,” is none other than Jill Scott.

EXTRA revealed that the show’s February 24th return will feature Scott as a mentor for team Usher.

Usher told “Extra’s” Renee Bargh, “That’s my secret weapon, incredible, as a writer, as a musician, as an actress, all those elements really help to prepare artists.”

Scott added, “When Usher calls, you take the call.”

Her advice to contestants? “Listen to your gut, follow your heart and it will lead you somewhere special.”

Mary Mary’s Erica Campbell, Shirley Caesar, Donald Lawrence, Hezekiah Walker, Isaac Carree, Tasha Cobbs, Ricky Dillard, VaShawn Mitchell, Lexi, Anthony Brown & Group TherAPy and Jonathan McReynolds are the early notable names set to grace the stage.

A hallmark of the Stellar Awards telecast has become the powerful, stirring artist collaborations brought together by the show’s producers — this year, The Canton Spirituals, The Gospel Legends and The Wardlaw Brothers will team for the Quartet Collaboration; while Erica Campbell joins Jekalyn Carr, Latice Crawford and Lexi for the Female Collaboration.

The Male Collaboration will feature Jonathan McReynolds, Jonathan Nelson, Vashawn Mitchell and Zacardi Cortez. Kirk Franklin will perform a special tribute to the late Nelson Mandela and Ricky Dillard is set to close the show.

As previously announced, the 29th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards Show is hosted by “The View’s” Sherri Shepherd and “Dish Nation’s” breakout star Rickey Smiley, who bring impeccable comedic timing and expertise as daily talk show hosts to the role. For the second time in as many years, the Stellar Awards will air live in primetime on the UP Television Network from its new home at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 7 p.m. EST/6 p.m. CST/4 p.m. PST. The Stellar Awards will air in national broadcast syndication in over 200 television markets from January 25 – March 22. The red carpet hosted by Tye Tribbett will air online prior to the telecast covering the glitz and glamour of the celebrity arrivals.

Congratulations to Kim Fields on her New Coming Baby Boy

The celebrity babies just keep on coming.

Kim Fields, 44, and husband, Christopher Morgan, 37, are expecting their second child in early December. Fields made the announcement on The Real, revealing her pregnant tummy to host and viewers.

She told the five co-hosts, “Sebastian and Christopher are very excited. We’re very, very blessed,” she says. “It was planned. We’ve actually been trying for a couple years. We were pregnant twice and miscarried. Chris and I were very blessed to really have one another, to have our family and friends and our God to really get us through that.”

The couple have already named their new baby boy, Quincy Xavier, who will be welcomed by the couples 6-year-old son Sebastian Alexander.
