BEYONCÉ Drops Surprise “Visual Album” via iTunes

The self-titled set is the artist’s first visual album. BEYONCÉ is infused with 14 new songs and 17 visually stunning, provocative videos shot around the world from Houston to New York City to Paris, and Sydney to Rio de Janeiro, all before the album’s release.

“I see music,” says Beyoncé about her decision to create a visual album. “It’s more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music.”

That the album is available on the day the world is learning about its release is an unprecedented strategic move by the artist to deliver music and visual content directly to her fans when she wants to and how she wants to, with no filter. “I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it,” she states. “I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”

The name “LeToya” is described as “victorious one” and LeToya Luckett has definitely proven the definition to be true. As a founding member of Destiny’s Child, she help set the group’s path to success and later set her own, by becoming a successful solo artist, entrepreneur, and burgeoning actress. As a member of Destiny’s Child, the Houston, Texas native became a multi-platinum National Recording Artist and 2-time Grammy Award winner. As  a solo artist, her efforts have been no less emblematic. In early 2006, her debut single “Torn” was released and quickly raced up the charts peaking at #1 on Urban Radio and #2 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Charts. Its accompany video broke records by becoming the #1 video on BET”s 106 & Park countdown for 25 consecutive days – the first video to do so since Aaliyah’s “Rock the Boat” in 2003.

In Between album projects LeToya made her professional acting debut int he JD Lawrence stage play “Rumors” as Michelle. She later made her film debut by starring in the Warner Premiere film, Preacher’s Kid in the role as the naive Angie King. The film was released nationwide in select markets, and has since became a top DVD seller in its genre.

LeToya is an advocate speaker and supporter of several youth organizations and has a genuine appeal to women’s retreats, conferences, workshops and college sororities as well. She stays in tuned with the day to day issues our young women have to face and enjoys being a mentor for people of all ages across the world.
